Hey guys! We're back from Florida and so I'm on to the next event, which is CAMP KINDRED!!! It took me a while to gather and decide what to include in the "tourist info packet", but that is now finished and being mailed out today.
As far as meals go, I'm going to list the days and open slots and let you pick what you would like to do. Clay and Margo are doing dinner Friday night. Kip and I will do dinner Wed. night & lunch Thursday since everyone will just be getting into town. So, that leaves Thursday and Saturday dinner and Friday and Saturday lunch. I don't know yet what we'll do on Sunday, but probably a brunch where everyone goes Dutch treat. The early bird catches the worm (or meal, so to speak), so start signing up. If you can, give us a hint of what type meat or meal you're preparing so we won't overlap too much.
For breakfast, we're just going to have cereals, juice and coffee (KISS-Keep It Simple Sister).

Wow, Debbie is turning into a blog designer and I don't even know how to type with more than two fingers!
The Borens will do Thursday dinner (a totally random pick). How about tacos, tortillas, salad..."Run for the Border" night!
Clay and Margo will have everyone to our house Friday night for various Caribbean/Tropical foods... "Run for the Border, Get in a Boat, and Find the nearest Island" night!
Now that our keyboard is working again (actually James had to buy a new keyboard and mouse), I can reply. Love the blog! Debbie, I'm so impressed at how you embrace technology!
Anyhoo, back to the subject at hand. I know the Boren girls and Kelsey want to do a meal. I've left a message for them to talk and decide on a remaining time, then we'll post their decision. I'm not sure exactly how I'll be feeling, so I hesitate to sign up at this time or my choice might be "Run for the Barf Bag" night. Doesn't sound near as fun as Kathleen and Margo's ideas. Monday I'll have my first chemo with the new medication, so let me see how that goes, then I'll decide what to do about a meal.
Can't wait to see everyone!
Kelsey, Hannah, and Haley want to do dinner on Saturday night, and James and I will do lunch on Saturday. Sorry, but no ideas yet on what we all will fix. Will get back with you when this is decided.
Karen and Wendell emailed that they would do lunch on Saturday (burgers, hot dogs, waldorf salad).
Kelly, I'd rather see you resting and relaxing than preparing a meal (since I really don't want to have a "run for the barf bag" meal. Ha! So, looks like the meals are all planned out except for Friday noon. I haven't heard from Bethany and Duane, so maybe they can do that one. If people are wanting to be out and about, it might be good to have a day (like Friday) that's open for lunch and everyone can do whatever they want and not worry about being back here at a certain time for lunch. As they say in Jamaica, "hey, no worries, be happy!".
Bethany is still trying to log onto the blog but having trouble because it keeps asking her for some password. If anyone knows what she should do, please let her know.
She and Duane are going to do Thursday lunch.
We are going to keep Friday lunch open so people will be free to go do every single thing in their travel packets. Just kidding! But, it will give everyone a chance to go to The Parade of Homes, Bass Pro Shop, The Bead Shop, malls, snooze by the pool or whatever. You can grab whatever you want to eat for lunch wherever you happen to be at the time.
Debbie dont you have a birthday to celebrate right around Camp Kindred!?? :)
Hey Campers,
I checked with my health club and they will allow me
to bring some guests for free... so if you are excited to hear this bring your workout gear and "let's get physical, physical, I want to get physical, let me hear your body talk..."
If you are under 18 your parent has to attend to sign a waiver... I guess they don't trust younger people to know Olivia Newton John lyrics.
Margo, yes, I do have the big 55 birthday coming up on the 29th. That means the next biggie will be 60! Oh my gosh! Sure am glad that it's way more fun to be immature than it is to "act my age"! Ha!
Debbie,
Thanks for all the planning you've put into this. Several times a day, Kelsey tells me how excited she is about Camp Kindred! And James...well, I can't get him to stop talking about it! :) Seriously, we're all really looking forward to it. It looks like Kramer may be able to come after all, too.
See you all soon!
Kelly
